GTA Vice City Remastered mode is in development. Players will recreate Vice City with the GTA 5 engine.
Grand Theft Auto series managed to mark the end of 2023 with its newest game GTA 6. While Rockstar raised expectations with the first trailer, a surprise move came from the players. A game mod group rolled up its sleeves for GTA: Vice City Remastered.
GTA: Vice City Remastered to be built on GTA 5’s game engine
Rockstar’s Vice City, released in 2002, has been a favorite of gamers for years. Finally, the game is getting a next-gen remastered version by mod developers. A group called Revolution Team will use the GTA 5 game engine RAGE to completely overhaul the entire Vice City experience.
The mod, which will be called GTA Vice City Nextgen Edition, aims to improve the graphics quality and adapt the gameplay to today’s conditions. According to the details shared, all missions, maps, characters and vehicles will be redesigned.
Character and pedestrian models will remain authentic, while textures will be improved. Environmental details such as particle effects and lighting will also be improved.
In terms of content, no changes are expected. Revolution Team said it will keep all the classic radio stations and cutscenes. The producers even said that they will take a look at the Definitive Edition, which caused a big controversy in the gaming world.
GTA Vice City Nextgen Edition, which will be released as a GTA 5 mod, will be released in 2025. It also seems unlikely that this project will have legal problems with Take-Two. It should be reminded that it will be a mod with the RAGE engine published by Rockstar.
