Turkey’s invisible UCAV ‘Anka-3‘ has recently successfully completed its first flight test. The world’s leading media outlets, such as Jane’s Report and Bloomberg, praised the Anka-3 as “predicted to be a significant milestone in the global UCAV world”.
Developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) and equipped with the latest technology, Turkey’s invisible armed unmanned aerial vehicle (UCAV) ‘TAI Anka-3’ (short name Anka-3) recently conducted its first flight test. During the test, which took place on December 28, 2023, the Anka-3 stayed in the air for more than an hour and reached an altitude of 8 thousand feet.
Anka-3 also successfully completed the runway pass test. The flight of the UCAV also caused great excitement in the global media. Numerous international media outlets, including Jane’s Report, the world’s most respected defense publication, and Bloomberg, the influential global economic publication, highlighted Anka-3’s successful test flight on their defense pages.
- Jane’s Report: “The Anka-3, a stealthy, jet-powered, three-winged UCAV, successfully completed its first flight on December 28. The Anka-3, which has two integrated advanced weapon systems, can hold a total of 1300 kg of ammunition. Even with this weight, the stealthy UCAV can carry smart, guided bombs and missiles at the same time.”
- Bloomberg: “Turkey has added a new inventory to its UAV and UCAV arsenal with the first flight of its stealthy UCAV. The state-of-the-art Anka-3 UCAV will boost Turkey’s defense capabilities.”
- The Warzone: “The highly anticipated Anka-3 UCAV, developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries, successfully completed its first flight of 1 hour and 10 minutes.”
- Defense Industry Europe: “The first flight test of Anka-3, Turkish Aerospace Industries’ new UCAV with advanced systems, has been conducted. The Anka-3 is expected to be a significant milestone in the global UCAV world.”
Defense Here: “Turkey’s Anka-3 UCAV, produced entirely with national resources, achieved the expected success in its first flight. Anka-3’s turbo jet engine and speed, high ammunition carrying capacity, ‘V’ shaped compact body make the UCAV invisible to radars. With a total of seven weapon stations and two advanced weapon integration systems, the UCAV is considered one of the world’s leading aircraft in its class.
Overtdefense: “In addition to reconnaissance and surveillance missions, the Anka-3 UCAV has air-to-air (AAM) and air-to-ground (AGM) strike systems. It is the size of a light fighter jet, with a wingspan of 12 meters and a length of 9 meters. Due to its ‘V’ shaped fuselage, the UCAV can hide from radars both horizontally and vertically. The UCAV can also neutralize enemy air systems.”
Army Recognition: “Turkey’s new UCAV, the Anka-3, is expected to play a leading role in military operations in the near future. Due to its airframe structure, the UCAV is invisible on radars and has an exceptional aerodynamic performance. Global military experts and the defense industry are looking forward to seeing the Anka-3 in real operations.”
