It was revealed that the accident in Milas district of Muğla, where Russian social media phenomenon Tatiana Ozolina (38) lost her life, occurred as a result of faulty overtaking. It was determined that Ozolina, one of the 3 motorcyclists traveling together, overtook a truck and hit Onur Obuk’s (29) motorcycle from behind. The motorcycle driver Obuk, who was injured in the same accident and was detained after his treatment and referred to the courthouse, was released on judicial control conditions.
The accident occurred on the Söke-Milas highway around 17.30 on July 21. Tatiana Ozolina, a Russian citizen motorcycle enthusiast and social media phenomenon, entered Turkey in the second week of July as part of her world tour. Tatiana Ozolina was accompanied by Onur Obuk and Sergei Khadrikov.
Sergei Khadrikov, one of the 3 motorcyclists moving towards Milas, allegedly fell behind. Obuk and Ozolina then slowed down and waited for their friends to approach them. Meanwhile, an oncoming truck drove between Obuk and Ozolina’s motorcycles.
The motorcycle with license plate 4898 AM 55 driven by Tatiana Ozolina, who allegedly overtook this truck in order to get ahead again, hit the motorcycle with license plate 01 ATM 970 driven by Onur Obuk from behind.
Obuk and Ozolina skidded and fell on the road due to the impact. A large number of health and police teams were dispatched to the area upon notification. It was determined that Ozolina died in the control made by the paramedics. Onur Obuk, who was seriously injured, was taken to Milas State Hospital. Tatiana Ozolina’s lifeless body was taken to Muğla Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy.
