1. Sheriff Jim Hopper theory
In the season finale of the series, Sheriff Jim Hopper, who appeared as Eleven’s parent, sacrificed himself trying to close the door of Upside Down with Joyce Byers and disappeared after the energy that emerged. Although this scene shows us that Hopper is dead, series fans don’t want to believe it. In the last scene of the series, the mention of an American in the Soviet Prison shown caused the fans to claim that Sheriff Hopper was alive. Another thing shown in prison was Demogorgon. It is seen that this Demogorgon is in the form of the Demogorgon in the first season.
2. Dr. Martin Brenner theory
You know that Dr. Brenner was experimenting with Eleven at Hawkins National Laboratory. Dr. Brenner, who kidnapped the young girl because of his psycho-technical abilities, followed him after Eleven’s escape from the facility. However, in the first season, he died during the war of Demogorgon and Eleven. In the second season, he started to learn the facts about Eleven’s family and started looking for his mother. Meanwhile, he met Ray Carroll, who had applied electroshock therapy to his mother at Hawkins National Laboratory, causing damage to her brain. Carroll told Dr. Brenner that he did not die and could take him to save himself. Although many thought that Carroll was lying in this scene, Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen, one of the Stranger Things producers, confirmed that Ray Carroll was not lying.
While some of the fans of the series think that the American mentioned in the final scene of the third part of the third season is Sheriff Jim Hopper, another part assumes that the American is Dr. Brenner. Considering that the Demogorgon in the last scene was the Demogorgon that killed Dr. Brenner in the first season, this seems unlikely.
3. Eleven theory
Eleven, the creature called “Mind Flayer” (mind thief) was injured in the series during the battle scenes in the last episodes of the third season. We witnessed in the third season that the mind thief infiltrated the minds of many people through Bill and created an army for himself. The effects of Will’s kidnapping in the first season are still ongoing, and Will occasionally finds himself on Upside Down. Fans of the series, which examines all this, suggest that after the bite of Eleven, he will be under the influence of the mind thief and turn into a bad character in the 4th season. Especially after the last war, Eleven, who fell very weak, cannot be expected to resist the thief without his powers.
4. Chernobyl theory
Perhaps the most interesting claim about Stranger Things is the Chernobyl theory. The fact that the series takes place in the 80s and the subject of the Soviet administration is one of the biggest arguments of this theory. The Chernobyl theory of the fans is as follows: The first season of Stranger Things passes in 1983, the second season in 1984, and the third season in 1985. For this reason, season 4 is expected to pass in 1986, the year of the Chernobyl disaster. The fact that the Soviet Union was in the middle of the events in the town, especially in the third season of the series, supports the claim. According to the theory, Eleven will cause an explosion of the nuclear power plant in Russia in the 4th season. Considering the mysterious atmosphere of Stranger Things, it seems extremely normal for them to include such an event.
