Underworld series work has begun. The Underworld film series will continue on its way in the TV world.

Preparations for the Underworld series have begun. The Underworld film series, which has been silent for a long time, is preparing to bring its adventure to the screens.

Len Wiseman, the creator of the series, has made new statements about the TV project, which was announced years ago but has not experienced any new developments for a long time.

The director is currently on a press tour to promote Ballerina, a film set in the John Wick universe. Speaking to Comic Book, Wiseman officially confirmed that the Underworld series is still in development.

“I often get this question and I usually say, “I can’t talk right now,” but now I can say yes. We’re working on a TV series and it’s going to be really great,” Wiseman said, adding that the project has been in development for the past two years and that he will devote more time to the project after Ballerina is completed.

Underworld Series Will Have A Different Tone From The Films

Wiseman, who worked on Sleepy Hollow, Lucifer and Swamp Thing after the Underworld productions, is now preparing to return to Underworld once again.

Wiseman, who stated in his previous statements that the series will have a very different tone from the films, gave clues about the project with the words ‘I don’t want to say more adult, but there will be less comic book air.’

Started in 2003, the Underworld series was a dark atmospheric action-horror series about the never-ending war between vampires and Lycans. The first film of the series introduced the character of vampire warrior Selene, played by Kate Beckinsale, and attracted attention with its rainy gothic aesthetics and mythological background.

Len Wiseman formed the creative backbone of the series with the first two films, Underworld and Underworld: Evolution. These films delved into the origins of the Corvinus clan and detailed the history of the vampire and Lycan clans. Wiseman also served as producer and writer on Rise of the Lycans and Awakening. Awakening, in particular, achieved the biggest box office success of the series with a global gross of over 160 million dollars.

What Will Underworld Series Tell?

The series format may offer an important opportunity to further deepen the narrative world of the Underworld universe. The television structure may provide more space for character development, focus on unexplored aspects of vampire and Lycan history, and meet a new audience.

Developments regarding the series, which has not yet shared a broadcast date or platform information, are expected to be clarified in the coming period.
