Recruitments by technology giants like Google have always been a topic of interest, but this time it’s different. Google hires 200 goats every year. No joke!

“You might be wondering, ‘But why?'” Actually, the answer is quite simple. Traditional lawn mowers not only create noise pollution but also consume fossil fuels.
Google, on the other hand, is in pursuit of sustainable solutions. Goats clean the area by eating the grass, leave natural fertilizer, and reduce the carbon footprint to zero. Moreover, this method also supports local farmers.

How did Google’s goat project start?

Of course, Google didn’t invent this idea. Goat herds are used in many countries, from the Netherlands to Japan. However, this new recruitment process was born out of Google’s “Green Office” policies.
The project, which was tested on the Mountain View campus in California in 2009, was so successful that it became a tradition every year. The goats are grazed on Google’s land, accompanied by specially brought herding dogs.

Company officials say this method is cheaper and more enjoyable. Employees relieve stress by watching the goats from the office windows. In fact, some even take photos with the goats during their breaks and share them on social media.

Among Google’s interesting facts, goat renting combines technology and nature to contribute to the environment. Of course, their employees too : ) Imagine your coworker is a goat!
