Universal Pictures has released the first photos and logo from “Jurassic World: Rebirth”, the next big movie in the “Jurassic World” film franchise.
Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali are seen in the photos, which are still being shot. The cast also includes Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Rupert Friend, Luna Blaise, David Iacono and Audrina Miranda.
David Koepp, who wrote the original “Jurassic Park” and its sequel “The Lost World: Jurassic Park”, is back to write the script for this movie. There will be no return of previous characters and the movie aims to usher in a “new Jurassic era”.
According to the official synopsis, the film will take place five years after the events of “Jurassic World Dominion”, when “the planet’s ecology proved to be largely unfavorable for dinosaurs.” The synopsis goes like this: The remaining dinosaurs live in isolated equatorial environments with climates similar to the one they once inhabited. Three of the most gigantic creatures in the tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that could bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humanity.
Gareth Edwards (The Creator, Godzilla, Rogue One) is directing the movie, which has started shooting in Thailand. Shooting is currently underway in Malta and will wrap in the UK in mid-October. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley are producing. “Jurassic World: Rebirth” will be released on July 2, 2025.
