Eros, a cat kept in a housing complex in Küçükçekmece, Istanbul, was tortured to death by İbrahim Keloğlan on January 1 in the early morning. Keloğlan got into the elevator, saw that Eros was there and started kicking him. Keloğlan went after the cat that escaped from the elevator, grabbed the cat and continued torturing it. After minutes of torture, Eros lost his life. The moments when Keloğlan tortured Eros to death were recorded by the security cameras of the site.
Despite all these images, Keloğlan was released with a good behavior discount at the first hearing of the case held on February 8 at the Küçükçekmece 16th Criminal Court of First Instance.
The date is January 1, 2024. The time is around 3:15 in the morning… A cat named Eros, who was born and raised in the parking lot of the complex and cared for by the residents, got into the elevator of the apartment building. Meanwhile, İbrahim Keloğlan, who lives in the same complex, also stepped into the elevator. Keloğlan attacked Eros and started kicking him. He chased after Eros, who ran out of the elevator to save himself, and continued to attack Eros where he caught him. Eros died on the spot as a result of the blows he received. The attack and torture Eros was subjected to lasted exactly six minutes. The fact that this was so clearly known was thanks to the cameras in the elevator and in the complex.

Those caring for Eros went to the police station with the footage and filed a complaint. A lawsuit was filed against Keloğlan, who was detained and released with judicial control. In his defense, he said he was in a bad mood on the day of the incident and claimed that the cat attacked him first.
GOOD BEHAVIOR DISCOUNT!
The murderer who kicked the cat to death received a good behavior discount. In the case held at Küçükçekmece 16th Criminal Court of First Instance, the person named İbrahim Keloğlan was found guilty and sentenced to 1 year and 6 months. The court applied a good behavior discount and reduced the sentence by 3 months and deferred the announcement of the verdict.
Cat killer released.
“WE NAMED HIM ‘EROS’ BECAUSE HE WAS A HUMAN BEING”
Sinem, who has been taking care of Eros since his birth and lives in the apartment where he was killed, said that what happened caused outrage in the complex. Sinem said that Eros was about 6 years old, and contrary to what the defendant said, he was very affectionate and not aggressive, “We named him Eros because he was very human. There are many cats in the complex where we live. I felt that I was very lucky in the way animals are treated where I live. There are many people who take care of animals. There is even food and water in front of our doors in the apartment building. The cats are used to it, they come, eat their food and leave. That’s why Eros was in the elevator that day. When someone got on the elevator, he would go to the floors above and eat the food in front of the door he wanted. He and other cats have such a habit.”

THE DECISION CAUSED OUTRAGE: “ARREST IBRAHİM KELOĞLAN”
A campaign was launched on social media against Keloğlan, who was given a good behavior discount, saying “Let İbrahim Keloğlan be arrested”.
Reaction is pouring in against Keloğlan and the verdict, who brutally and torturously killed the cat without mercy.
Please let us help this poor cat to lighten her spirit a little, please support this murderer to be arrested and prosecuted.
