That Dylan in 1981 was still considered a commercial risk, after his then latest turn to a sometimes embarrassing missionary Christianity, that can not be confirmed. Nevertheless, Dylan’s first appearance in Switzerland was atmospherically charged: the “opening set” of the four gospel singers was disturbed by boos – and the repertoire was still dominated by Dylan’s own pious songs, even though “Like a Rolling Stone” meanwhile was allowed to be there. For the fans, the 1981 concert is famous for another reason: because Brigitte Bardot sat in the audience – and Dylan dedicated her an unidentifiable instrumental number.
