Dark Winds is a 2022 American crime drama television series created by Graham Roland for AMC. The series is based on the Leaphorn & Chee book series by Tony Hillerman and stars Zahn McClarnon as Joe Leaphorn and Kiowa Gordon as Jim Chee.
Dark Winds is set in 1971 on the Navajo Nation in Arizona. Leaphorn and Chee are two Navajo police officers who investigate a series of murders that appear to be connected to a cult. The series explores themes of identity, tradition, and the clash between two cultures.
