Officially the Republic of Korea, it is located in the southern part of the Korean Peninsula. We have compiled 10 interesting facts about the country, which is surrounded by China, Japan and North Korea.

1- In South Korea, taxis are colored according to the level of service they provide. Black taxis refer to luxury vehicles used by experienced drivers, while white and gray ones represent standard vehicles with less experienced drivers.

2- There is no national religion in South Korea. But Christianity and Buddhism are widespread in the country.

3- South Korea is one of the few countries where the freedom to drink in public is allowed

4- Some of the largest shopping centers in the world are in South Korea, and the stores are open until 4 am.

5- The flag of South Korea has many philosophical meanings. In the middle of the flag, there is a blue and red yin-yang symbol expressing balance and harmony, and four trigrams symbolizing heaven, earth, fire and water at the corners.

6- In South Korea, the number 4 is believed to be bad luck and is associated with death.

7- If someone’s name is written in red ink, that person is either dying or already dead.

8- If you were born in South Korea, you are considered 1 year old at the time of birth.
