My dreams are made of iron and steel.
“As long ago as 1978, Dylan told Randy Anderson of the Minnesota Times that when he returns to his home state:”I like to blast sculpture out of metal”. Although he also said – somewhat implausibly – that he likes to roller-skate, ice-skate and fish.” — BBC

The Tompkins Square Park photograph Uli posted may have been taken around the same time as the gate photographs, but as the clothes are different it is unlikely to be the same day and time. It is the same photographer.
Does anyone know Tompkins Square Park? There is no gate like the one in the first photograph in this thread. Worth eliminating the possibility no matter how unlikely. The gate photographs look like a place less manicured, less urban, less municipal? More Malibu?
“Bob Dylan, Tompkins Square Park, ten minutes later we were chased out onto Avenue A by homeless men sleeping in the bandshell who threw bottles at us mistakenly thinking we were taking their pictures. May 21, 1990.”

The April 1991 Malibu photographs are the earliest I know of Bob Dylan’s iron gates. But that is more than two decades ago. And that gate does not look like the work of a beginner.
