1- In the first episode, Dolores hacks a rich man’s smart home system. When the man orders the system, the system replies ‘I’m afraid I can’t do this’. This scene is a reference to the movie ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’.

2- Unlike Dolores’s five black pearls, Bernard’s pearl is a reddish color. This probably symbolizes Bernard’s uniqueness and human consciousness.

For both people, these moments represent the innocence and happiness before their world collapses.

8- The name Serac and the names Serac gave to his brother’s machines are the names of a biblical dynastic kings: Saul, David, Soloman, and Rehoboam.
