DECEMBER 16, 1907 – The first vocal music performance was broadcast on radio airwaves when Eugenia Farrar, at the Navy Yard in Brooklyn, sang “I Love You Truly.”Born in 1873 or 1874 in Stockholm Sweden as Ada Eugenia von Böös, according to relatives still living in Sweden, Eugenia grew up in a rather privileged family; but after they lost all their money, the 17-year-old and her mother emigrated to the US with nothing but Eugenia’s magical voice.
