November 18, 1974 Genesis released “The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway”

NOVEMBER 18, 1974 – UK art-rock band Genesis released “The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway,” their sixth studio album (released as a double LP), and their last studio album released with Peter Gabriel as lead singer. Producer by the band and John Burns, the concept album about a New York street kid called Rael and his quest for spiritual self-discovery was followed by a six-month tour which has been described by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as “a spectacle on par with anything attempted in the world of rock to that point.”
