When I pose the question, “Could there ever be another Lennon and McCartney,” I would agree with those that say well The Beatles did strike the iron at the right time, but I think there’s more then that, with Lennon’s raspy, but catchy voice and McCartney‘s natural vocal range that could sing soft, but also rock, they both blended together like no other and that one thing drove the girls crazy, I think the chemistry they had between them plus the song writing skills, musical arrangements along with creativity and just the whole way the band came together can never again be matched, plus we have to realize that they bridged the gap between old-school and new school. So yeah I take what other’s say, in that it was the timing that made Lennon and McCartney visibly great and that no one else could ever have that opportunity again, but I also think that that you have to admire the full catalog of McCartney songs in his lifetime, I mean, who’s ever gonna write that many good quality songs again? Sometimes I think, what will it be like once McCartney passes, I know a lot of people, even me, think that at the age of seventy eight McCartney continuing to put on shows as he is, even though vocally he isn’t what he used to be is too much for him to tackle, but at the same time there are a lot of people that want to be able to hear a Beatle before there’s no Beatles, I know when I went to see McCartney back in 2016 with my 30 yr old daughter, it was amazing to me and her that we can sit down and actually hear a Beatles song sang by the actual voice that actually wrote it, so yes there is nostalgia and I see why he continues to tour, he’s bringing The Beatles songs to a whole new generation, but that being said, once McCartney is gone, I think he will be put on a very high pedestal of respect maybe even to the point of Bach and Mozart.
