1- “Jess Mariano” spinoff was almost happening.
When Rory’s (Bledel’s) rebellious boyfriend Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) flew to Los Angeles, everyone was really surprised. Fortunately, there was a Jess spinoff work at the time and the 2003 episode “Here Comes the Sun” was going to be the pilot episode for this spinoff. Unfortunately, The WB did not want to spend any money on the TV series called “The Windward Circle,” and the project was shelved.
2- Keiko Agena turned 27 when Gilmore Girls started airing.
Agena Rory’s best friend had portrayed the character Lane Kim, and Lane should have been around 16 at the time.
3- The baseball cap Luke wore upside down was not just for show.
Scott Patterson, who plays the grumpy cafe owner Luke, was playing for the minor league baseball team before joining the Gilmore Girls.
4- The epic of Luke and Lorelai “accidentally” appeared.
The character Luke was originally written as a “woman,” but was changed when the producers decided there wasn’t enough male weight in the show. Even after that, Luke wasn’t expected to be a permanent player… until the incredible chemistry between Scott Patterson and Lauren Graham was revealed.
5- Since Gilmore Girls was Alexis Bledel’s first major role, Lauren Graham’s arm was always on the shoulder of her daughter Bledel in the first season because he had to guide Bledel to get to the right spot on the stage.
6- Before he became Don Draper, Jon Hamm was one of the men Lorelai dated.
The character Hamm played was named Peyton Sanders, and this character was quite a loser.
7- Alexis Bledel normally doesn’t like coffee.
For this reason, Gilmore Girls consumed coke instead of coffee throughout their shoot.
8- Liza Weil actually auditioned to play the character “Rory.”
Unfortunately, she wasn’t exactly suitable for this role, yet the producers loved her so much that they wrote her a special role: Paris Geller.
9- Gilmore Girls’ episode scripts were incredibly long due to a large number of dialogues and too much talk.
Each one was at least 70-80 pages long.
10- Stars Hollow is a real place!
This is based in the small and charming town of “Washington Depot, Connecticut.”
11- The character of Sookie would actually be portrayed by Alex Borstein.
Unfortunately, the Family Guy actor could not be included in the project due to his schedule. However, we watched him as a guest actor many times. Furthermore, in real life, Alex Borstein is married to Jackson Douglas, who is married to Sookie in the drama.
12- The Gilmore Girls movie may come true. Maybe.
Not only did the creator of the series Amy Sherman-Palladino say that she had untold stories about Gilmore Girls, but Lauren Graham also stated that she would approach such a movie positively.
