An aging Pat Garrett is hired as a lawman on behalf of a group of wealthy New Mexico cattle barons–his sole purpose being to bring down his old friend Billy the Kid.

Dylan played a mysterious character named Alias, who rarely speaks but aids Billy the Kid at several points. In one memorable scene, he unexpectedly sides with the outlaw and throws a dagger into the neck of an assailant.
