AUGUST 13, 1967- Fleetwood Mac at the National Jazz and Blues Festival

AUGUST 13, 1967- Fleetwood Mac (billed as Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac) made their live debut when they appeared at the National Jazz and Blues Festival, held at the Royal Windsor Racecourse in Windsor, England. Also on the bill Jeff Beck, Cream, Small Faces, The Move, The Pink Floyd, Donovan and Chicken Shack (with a young Christine Perfect who would become Christine McVie).Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood, Jeremy Spencer, and Bob Brunning were the members at the time. Green had chosen the band’s name to lure Fleetwood and bassist John McVie to the group, and within weeks of this show, John McVie agreed to join the band as permanent bassist.
